The Rutland Garden Club organizes programs with assisted living facilities and the Boys & Girl's Club of Rutland during the year. For example, we had a demonstration of flower arranging by a garden club member at the Meadows and then everyone made their own centerpiece.  A number of Garden Club members assisted where necessary. Sometimes we have had children from a local school participate. Occasionally, the children have created holiday cards for each senior and perhaps, sang. Because family members often live away, the children fill a special need. And the children are very attentive and helpful. 

During the month of December, members of the Rutland Garden Club spend time at the Boys and Girls Club downtown to help children decorate holiday wreaths which they can bring home to share with their family.  It is usually a fun day filled with ribbons and pine cones as each child crafts their ideal wreath!
