Our March meeting was held at the Godnick Center, and was well attended: 30 members, 8 guests and 2 new members. The upcoming May 17 Plant Sale was spotlighted, with a need for new and different plants for the sale. Late in April, there will be 'dig parties' scheduled from gardens with extra plants to split or donate. Michele and Judy gave a quick demo on combining plants in containers for the Plant Sale, using some that may be in your home. The Vermont State Flower Show earlier in March enjoyed great participation from our club, with a ribbon for one of our new members!

Our speaker was Calista Budrow, owner of Greenspell Plant Shop in downtown Rutland. Calista helped educate us on a number of fascinating plants. She spoke with knowledge and passion about the Echeveria varieties she brought with her, including the popular outdoor varieties Hen and Chicks. She related the challenges of growing indoor plants, and took questions from the group about their particular plants and their preferred survival characteristics.
