Pansies for Rutland Downtown Visitors!

The Rutland Garden Club has enhanced the Rutland downtown street scene for many years with small gardens in city planters and flower boxes, supported by the Downtown Partnership, Rutland City, and local merchants.

Last year we began a new tradition - as a spring transition, we added pansies to the flower boxes, after the winter greens were gone by. This adds a breath of color for visitors in the cool months before we replant the boxes with summer flowers and greenery.

Our color theme this year is red, white and blue to highlight the 250th Anniversary of these United States. When we replant the boxes in June, the pansies will be moved into the 20 public gardens in Rutland City which are maintained by the Garden Club.

Thank you to Jo F., Irene V., JoAnn O., Sue H., Pat B., Betsy F., Nikki A., Becky R., Shelley Z., Millie K., Valerie C., and all Rutland Garden Club members who worked to organize this new Spring Color initiative this year and last!
