Tea Time Anyone?

"Evolution of the Tea Table" with Linda Boyd answered that question and many more. She was the featured speaker at our September meeting at the Chaffee Art Center. Tea Expert Linda Boyd talked about how silver tea services have developed from the 17th through 20th centuries with a series of slides and a demonstration at her elegant tea table.

We were surrounded by beauty that day starting with the walk into the mansion through the gardens maintained by our Rutland Garden Club members. The walls were covered in the Chaffee's newest exhibition and the beautifully set tea table for two which demonstrated Linda's talk was echoed by the Hospitality Committees tea time inspired luncheon.

The Chair of our Flower Show filled us in on all the details of this event

The business meeting portion was a busy one with so many upcoming events and congratulations on past successes. Our treasury is full due to the success of our Plant/Bake/Book Sale and the Strawberry Luncheon. Our holiday Wreath Sale, so successful last year, promises to be even better this season. But the big attraction and commitment by our members is to our coming Flower Show on September 14th. More on that in our next blog entry coming soon!

Our President and a partial glimpse of the members. It was a full house.
