As part of our ongoing program for Community Outreach, members and new friends of the Rutland Garden Club gathered at Trinity Church to learn and share ideas for creating Valentines posies. The goal was to create several dozen tiny-to-small arrangements out of durable materials, to give as gifts to folks at senior living centers. Our first step was to gather goods: small containers (even tiny medicine bottles), artificial flowers, ribbons, picks and foundations were provided in abundance.
We had wonderful contributions; we especially note additions from a homebound member who participated 'from afar", and a new member who sent beautiful materials even though she couldn't attend.
Many thanks to the hardworking members who assembled materials, made sample arrangements for inspiration, and set up stations with flowers and ribbons to select from. An enthusiastic group of creators followed instruction from our patient sponsors.
It only took a few hours of creative labor, taking time to catch up with each other while doing a good deed!
The final result was over 75 mini bouquets and arrangements. We delivered them to grateful residents at St. Joseph Kervick Residence, and at The Pines.
Thanks to all, enjoy the photos of the creators and the posies!
